PBBM lead the awarding rites to 310 graduating cadets of the PMA ‘MADASIGON’ Class of 2023

Fort Del Pilar,  Baguio City –  President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. arrives at the Philippine Military Academy (PMA)  for the Commencement Exercises of the “MAndirigmang may Dangal SImbolo at Galing at PagbangON (MADASIGON) Class of 2023 held on May 21, 2023.

The President was given arrival honors before he proceeds to the Grandstand to lead the awarding rites to 310 graduating cadets, composed of  238 males and 72 females.

CDT1CL Warren Leonor received the Presidential Saber from President Ferdinand R. Marco Jr. as Valedictorian of the PMA MADASIGON Class of 2023.

Besides being cum laude, he also received 14 other awards.

CDT 1CL Leonor is a native of Lipa City, Batangas where he dreamed of becoming a pilot so he chose to join the Philippine Air Force.

In his speech, Marcos also urged the MADASIGON Class to always adhere to the paramount ideals they have imbibed during their stay in the PMA.

“As you join the military’s ranks, continue to fuel your undying and genuine love for country and commitment to public service. In all your tasks, diligently work for unity, respect for democratic ideals, institutions, and mechanisms, and the rule of law,”

“As you march forward [with] hearts full of pride and vigor, remain humble in yourselves and honor those who have nurtured you right since the inception of all your budding dreams and aspirations,”

“And that is why this day is also a day to honor your parents, your families, your loved ones, as well as your mentors and your peers,” he added.

The graduation rites ended with the long gray line, the singing of the PMA Alma mater song, and the throwing of the shako or military cap which symbolizes their graduation from the academy.  # Mario Oclaman //FNS
