P40.7 million worth of Marijuana destroyed in Kalinga

Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad Benguet- (May 12, 2021) –  The continous implementation of Marijuana Eradication Program in the province of Kalinga resulted in the destruction of over Php 40 million worth of marijuana plants in the 4-day operations of Kalinga Provincial Police Office and PDEA CAR from May 6-9, 2021.

Reports reaching the Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD O LEE, during the 4-day marijuana eradication operation in Kalinga, joint operatives of Kalinga PPO, RMFB15 and PDEA CAR led to the discovery of three (3) marijuana plantation sites located in Mt Chumanchill, Barangay Loccong, Tinglayan.

According to the said reports, the discovered three marijuana plantation sites have an estimated total land area of 8,900 square meters, with more or less 88,400 fully grown marijuana plants (FJMP) amounting to Php 17,680,000.

Aside from the uprooted FGMPs, in site one, operatives also found 165 kilo dried marijuana leaves amounting to more or less Php 19,800,000.00; 60 kilos of marijuana seeds and 15 kilos of marijuana stalks which has an estimated value of Php 3,300,000.00.

To sum, the 4-day marijuana eradication led to the destruction of a total of Php 40,780,000.00 worth of fully grown marijuana plants, dried marijuana leaves and marijuana stalks which were all destroyed and burned onsite after proper documentation. (PROCOR-PIO)
