NOLCOM AFP Promotes West Philippine Sea Advocacy and AFP Recruitment at Labor Day Job Fairs

In support of the Northern Luzon Command’s thrusts, the 1st Civil Relations Group, CRSAFP, participated in two major job fairs and caravan services on Labor Day, May 1, 2025, in Tarlac and Baguio City in collaboration with the Provincial Employment Service Office (PESO) Tarlac and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Cordillera in celebration of the 123rd Labor Day, with the theme “Manggagawang Pilipino, Kaagapay sa Pag-unlad, Sandigan ng mas Matatag na Bagong Pilipinas”.

The 1CRG, CRSAFP led the promotion of West Philippine Sea (WPS) advocacy and military recruitment through the distribution of leaflets and a photo gallery display.

In Tarlac City, the job fair was held at the Bulwagan ng Kanlahi, Diwa ng Tarlac, and featured 65 agencies offering employment services and opportunities for job seekers, as well as 10 government agencies providing one-stop shop caravan services for government services drewing about 450 job seekers.

In Baguio City, 36 agencies and 19 government agencies participated in the job fair held at the Baguio City Convention Center, attracting over 500 participants.

The job fair and caravan served as a platform for fostering appreciation for the country’s sovereignty and territorial rights, promoting military careers, and strengthening the role of Filipinos in nation-building,  peace, and development.

Meanwhile, on Labor Day, NOLCOM Commander

LTGEN FERNYL G BUCA PAF, extended a heartfelt tribute to the nation’s workers, calling them the country’s “silent heroes.”

“This Labor Day, we pay tribute to our nation’s silent heroes – The Filipino Workers. You exemplify what it means to be DILIGENT (Masipag) through your efforts in sustaining our economy, COURAGEOUS (Matapang) in strengthening our communities, RESPECTFUL (Magalang) in the laws of our country, and RESPONSIBLE (Responsable) in securing our future.”

He further recognizes the vital role workers play in nation-building and highlights the shared commitment to values that drive both the workforce and the military toward a common goal.
