Nagtipunan mayor hosts a peaceful protest over the suspension

NAGTIPUNAN, QUIRINO- The suspended Mayor here, Nieverose Camma-Meneses hosted a nonviolent resistance participated by her supporters and elders from Bugkalot tribe on July 21, 2021, at Landingan View Point, Nagtipunan, Quirino to cry for justice after the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Ordered her suspension for Administrative Case and violation of Sec. 3 (h) of RA 3019.

Meneses claims that the evidence used against her was merely fabricated and baseless. She said that the SP is not the correct arena to litigate the case filed against her by Loyd Lozado P Toloy, Tourism Officer of the said municipality.

But the suspension order that was released on July 15, 2021 signed by Hon. Vice Governor Julius Ceazar S Vaquilar, states that a thorough judicious review of pleadings and documents submitted during the trials and proceeding they conducted rendered their decision, thus directed Meneses to vacate the Office of Municipal Mayor of Nagtipunan immediately upon receipt of the Decision.

Meneses was suspended for 10 months and 15 days.

Several members and elders of the Bugkalot tribe where Meneses belonged also expressed their sentiments regarding the suspension during the rally.

Meneses during a press conference that was attended both by local and national media said her legal team is working on possible remedies and asked her constituents to support her fight.

Section 68 of the Government code of 1991 states that an appeal shall not prevent a decision from becoming final and executory. #   Mae Barangan
