Mayor to report on accomplishments on First 100 days in office

Mayor Benjamin Magalong will give a report on his first 100 days of his second term as city executive at the flag-raising ceremonies on Oct. 10, 8 a.m. at the City Hall grounds.
The mayor is expected to highlight the status of the city’s projects, programs and activities including the various catalytic projects in relation to the 7-point core agenda set at the start of his second term aimed at attaining environmental sustainability and economic recovery.
These are: environment, land use and energy; urban regeneration; smart city management; climate and disaster resilience; economic development and competitiveness; good governance; and youth empowerment.
During his oath-taking last June 30, 2022, the mayor said his focus will be on pursuing the programs he started during his first term as these are strategic in addressing the needs and concerns of the city, specifically the goals to propel the city’s socio-economic development and environmental renaissance.
The mayor said the catalytic projects which are now in different stages of planning and implementation are expected to create 3,500-4,000 employment opportunities and a steady revenue stream of P500-P600 million annually to shore up the city’s economy from the pandemic-induced slump.
They are also part of the systems being developed to arrest social and environmental problems to save the city from hurtling towards urban decay. – Aileen P. Refuerzo
