Laborer busted; P88K marijuana plants eradicated
As the result of the continuous anti-illegal drug operations being conducted by PROCOR Cops, a drug personality was busted while Php 88,000.00 worth of marijuana plants were eradicated in the province of Benguet on August 31, 2022.
According to the reports submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN MAFELINO ASPERO BAZAR, the arrested drug personality was identified as Rex Javir Sotelo, 23.
In Brgy. Pico, La Trinidad, suspect Rex was arrested by the operatives of Benguet PPO and PDEA-Benguet after he sold one (1) plastic sachet of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 0.25 grams and standard drug price (SDP) of Php 1,700.00.
Markings and inventory of the confiscated pieces of evidence were done on-site in the presence of the suspect and witnessed by Kagawad Fernando Palitayan of Barangay Pico and Prosecutor Hazen Binayan, DOJ Representative.
The suspect and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of La Trinidad Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and disposition while charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are now filed against the suspect.
Meanwhile, in a marijuana eradication operation conducted in Brgy. Kayapa, Bakun, the operatives of Benguet PPO discovered two marijuana plantation sites planted with a total of 400 marijuana seedlings with an SDP of Php 16,000.00 and 360 fully grown marijuana plants with an SDP of Php 72,000.00.
All marijuana plants were destroyed on-site while an investigation is ongoing to identify the possible cultivators. (File photos / PROCOR-PIO)
