Immunization strategies on

The city government pushes immunization efforts for the rest of the population (ROP) or everyone 18 years old and above, through the opening of megasites, district, satellite, mobile and drive-through vaccination.

Assistant City Health Services Officer Dr. Celia Flor Brillantes outlined the strategies for general immunization during the regular Ugnayan media forum at city hall last week.

In addition to vaccine megasites University of Baguio, Saint Louis University and SM Parking area; District (Divacc) and satellite vaccination (Satvacc) sites to be utilized are the Rillera building at the city market, Divine Mercy for Atab, University of the Cordilleras for City Camp area, PEZA, and Baguio City Science High School in Irisan. Other vaccination sites needing approval from higher authorities are those in Asin, Quezon Hill and Pacdal.

More vaccination sites shall be opened during weekends, to cater to the rest of the population (ROP) in all barangays, Dr. Brillantes said. All barangays will be accommodated, without the need for barangay-issued stubs.

According to Brillantes, the ROPs include all those above 18 years of age, who may have comorbidities, not included as health workers or allied medical students, and are not working or studying, housewives or homebound husbands.

Documents to be presented upon vaccination are; QR code acquired from online registration with bakuna.baguio.gov.ph, valid identification cards with picture, or an authenticated/sealed barangay residence certificate within six months, with an authorized barangay official’s signature. A medical clearance is needed for a person with comorbidities, it was known.

Persons staying with relatives in the city would need a QR code from bakuna.baguio.gov.ph, and a residence certification, to be vaccinated, Brillantes said. Someone staying with relatives needs to be accompanied to the barangay office for a residence certification, for him to be vaccinated at the nearest bakuna site.

Creative ways of having Baguio residents are continually rolled out with the efforts of the Baguio City Vaccination Action Team: Engr. Philip Puzon, Executive Assistant Benjie Macadangdang, Marvin Herrera, the Management Information Technology Division (MITD) and other partners. Julie G. Fianza
