F2F CLASSES BEGIN

Elementary pupils resume attending face-to-face classes in Gibraltar Elementary School, one of two schools granted the authority after satisfying the requirements of the School Safety Assessment Tool (SSAT) of the DepEd.

The other school is Sto. Tomas Elem. School. DepEd Baguio Schools Division Supt. Federico Martin said that as of March 6, four other schools were scheduled for orientation and simulation: Sto. Tomas National High School-Senior High School-Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL), Mil-an NHS (TVL), Happy Hollow Elem. School (ES) Spring Hills ES and Alfonso Tabora ES.

Other schools that passed the SSAT as validated by the composite team and recommended to the DepEd city and regional offices were Fairview ES, Kias ES, Baguio Central School, Baguio City National High School, Baguio City Science HS (Stand Alone), Pines City NHS, Doña Aurora H. Bueno ES, Manuel A. Roxas ES and Quezon Hill ES.

Private schools are also included in the assessments by the division’s validation teams in preparation for reopening.  While preparing, some private schools conduct special face-to-face sessions specifically for periodical tests under strict health and safety protocols as demonstrated by UCCP Baguio Educational Center (see photos).

The division’s validations are continuing through ocular inspections of the public and private schools to assess their level of preparedness based on the SSAT requirements which include the presence of an isolation room, health protocols, class schedules, contingency plan and a barangay resolution. – Aileen P.
