DOH-02 TAGS 12 LGUs IN CAGAYAN VALLEY AS “CRITICAL EPIDEMIC RISK” AREAS

SAN MATEO, Isabela- Twelve municipalities in Region 2 have been classified as “critical epidemic risk” areas due to the rapid rise of Covid-19 infections. According to DOH-02, these municipalities were: Roxas, Sta. Maria, Reina Mercedes, Delfin Albano, San Isidro, Quezon and Cauayan City in the Province of Isabela while Iguig, Allacapan, Alcala, Sta. Teresita and Solana in the Province of Cagayan.

Dr. Angelica Taloma of DOH-02 said the earlier mentioned municipalities had a rapid growth of infections but she cleared that though in critical classification, it doesn’t imply that it has the highest rate of infections in the entire region.

Meanwhile, Dr. Glenn Baggao, chief of Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC) in Tuguegarao City has announced on Aug. 18, 2021 that their Operating Room (OR) complex will only be accepting “extreme” emergency cases as 102 of their hospital personnel were tested positive to Covid-19.# Mae Barangan
