DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION CENTER SOON

The city will soon establish a Digital Transformation Center which aims “to enhance the ICT upskilling efforts and strengthen the ICT entrepreneurship ecosystem” in the city.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong received on Dec. 15 the check worth almost P500 million as an initial fund for the project which has a total cost of P890 million.ย 

The check was turned over by the Dept. of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) represented by Asec. Kristoffer Tiansay DICT, Dir. Arnold De Castro and Dir. Nestor Bongcato at the City Mayor’s Office as witnessed by Executive Ast. V Engr. Felipe Puzon Jr., City Treasurer Alex Cabarrubias, City Budget Officer Atty. Leticia O. Clemente, City Accountant Antonio Tabin and Francis Camarao of the MITD.

The city and the DICT recently forged an agreement for the put up and operation of a critical digital infrastructure, particularly the National Government Data Center and a Digital Transformation Center (NGDC-DTAC) signed by DICT Secretary Gregorio Honasan and Mayor Magalong.

The agreement governs the design, build and co-management of the operation of the NGDC-DTC innovation hub which will include the cityโ€™s contribution of making available the project site, procurement of the design-build implementation activities to be undertaken by the local government on DICTโ€™s behalf, co-management of the operation of the same and other rights and obligations.
