City mourns demise of Trancoville barangay official

Mayor Benjamin Magalong ratified city council resolution no. 586, series of 2023, expressing the deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences of the city’s officialdom and constituency to the bereaved family of the late kagawad Arturo ‘Jhony’ G. Frias, Jr., of Trancoville barangay who passed away on September 22, this year, at the age of 48.
Frias was elected as kagawad of the said barangay in 2018, following a stint as a barangay tanod from 2005 to 2013.
“Renowned for his proactive nature, Frias served as a dependable public servant of Trancoville barangay, diligently fulfilling his duties until his untimely passing,” the approved measure stated.
It disclosed that he was actively involved in all barangay programs and often took the lead in activities benefiting the community and its residents, readily offering assistance and guidance to those seeking his help especially during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Prior to his passing, Frias energetically participated in the Balili River clean-up, exemplifying his dedication to community-based service.
“His demise is a great loss to the realm of public service, as he consistently strived to enhance the quality of life in his community through various commitments to community-based initiatives. Frias leaves behind a lasting legacy that will forever reside in the hearts of the people he passionately served in his relatively brief yet impactful tenure,” the resolution stressed. – Gaby B. Keith
