City mourns death of two barangay officials

Mayor Benjamin Magalong has ratified separate city council measures mourning the demise of two barangay officials of the Summer Capital.
Resolution no. 585, series of 2023, expresses the city’s deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of the late Dionisio V. Amagen of Lower Magsaysay barangay who served as kagawad with “unwavering dedication” from 2018 until his death.
“Amagen diligently discharged his duties and responsibilities as barangay kagawad devoting his time and efforts to the betterment of the community. He demonstrated an exceptional commitment to addressing the environmental concerns of the barangay consistently striving to implement sustainable practices that would ensure the cleanliness and health of the community,” it stated.
Meanwhile, resolution no. 587, series of 2023, also expressed the city’s deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of the late kagawad Jose P. Giacao of Honeymoon-HolyGhost barangay.
Giacao started his journey in public service as the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairman of said barangay from 1992 to 1995 then was elected as kagawad in 1996 where he continued to serve until his passing.
“Giacao was an unwavering and dependable public servant who carried out his official duties with utmost diligence. His passing is an immeasurable loss to the community for he tirelessly endeavored to enhance the well-being of its residents even while battling illness and undergoing medical treatment,” the measure stated. – Gaby B.
