City Hall elevators asked to be added in priority projects list

Acting City Mayor Faustino Olowan ratified city council resolution no. 452, series of 2022, requesting Mayor Benjamin Magalong for the inclusion in the list of priority projects of the city government two elevators for the City Hall building.

The measure states that the august body, through resolution no. 207, series of 2007, requested the City Buildings and Architecture Office (CBAO) to identify the location, prepare the concept design and cost estimate of the proposed construction of an elevator within Baguio City Hall.

In her letter dated August 24, 2018, then CBAO head Engr. Nazita Banez furnished the city council a copy of the brief description of concept location, cost estimate and architectural plan of the ‘Proposed Construction of Elevator’ for City Hall amounting P5,608,300.

On Sept. 3, 2018, the local legislature passed ordinance no. 106, series of 2018, which allocates the amount of P2,500,000 or so much thereof for the construction and installation of an elevator within City Hall for the benefit and use of persons with disability, elderly, and pregnant women, among others, while transacting with different offices.

“Members of the august body reiterate the importance of elevators within City Hall for its intended purpose for the general clients,” the resolution states. – Gaby B. Keith
