City commends DepEd ‘EdTech Awards’ winner, team

Mayor Benjamin Magalong signed city council resolution no. 289, series of 2022, congratulating and commending Frank Lloyd De Guzman of the Schools Division of Baguio for winning Most Outstanding Teacher-Broadcaster for Physical Education for DEPED TV during the recently conducted Department of Education “EdTech Awards” held from on June 21 to 23, this year, at Teachers Camp.

The measure also congratulates and commends De Guzman’s team:  Jonjon Bulaon, Jeffrey Jay Bagasol, Andy Villamor, Christine Falag-ey, John Dee Cayso and Elijah Calara.

The event serves as a platform to recognize teachers, division and regional offices that have successfully implemented their best practices and innovative work in education technology, thus, providing quality education amidst the global pandemic, the measure states.

Born and raised in the Summer Capital, De Guzman spent 10 years as a public school teacher at Baguio Central School and is now reassigned as DepEd TV teacher-broadcaster under the EdTech or ICTS at DepED Central Office.

“His esteemed award has brought great honor and pride to the DepEd-Baguio, the education sector, to the City of Baguio, and the entire Cordillera Region and serves as an inspiration to his colleagues and associates,” the resolution states. – Gaby B. Keith
