CADAC holds 4th quarter meeting
The Summer Capital’s City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) has reaffirmed its commitment to building a holistic, coordinated and compassionate approach towards the achievement of a safer and drug-free Baguio.
This was stressed during CADAC’s 4th quarter meeting, Dec. 12, at the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) Building, presided by City Mayor’s Office executive assistant IV and CADAC focal person Benjamin Macadangdang representing Mayor Benjamin Magalong.
The accomplishments and ongoing initiatives of the Philippine Enforcement drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Baguio-Benguet and the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) in line with the city’s ongoing anti-drug efforts were among those presented and discussed during the meeting.
Strengthening of the Baguio Reintegration and Aftercare Information System (BRAISE), a digital platform used to monitor Persons Who Use Drugs (PWUDs) who voluntarily surrendered and are set to undergo the city’s Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program (CBDRP), was also tackled Department of the Interior and Local Government-Baguio Field Office head Millicent Carino said that bolstering the implementation of BRAIS will help ensure the effective monitoring, sustained aftercare, and successful community reintegration of the PWUDs.
The CADAC is chaired by the Mayor with BCPO Dir. P/Col. Ruel Tagel as vice-chair with the CMO’s Special Services Division as secretariat and is composed of representatives from various concerned government agencies and civil society organizations. – Gaby B. Keith with DILG reports
