National Food Authority rice assistance intended for qualified beneficiaries was successfully distributed in Santo Rosario Barangay following a coordinated effort among barangay officials, community workers, and government agencies.

A total of 98 sacks of rice, weighing 50 kilos each, were hauled from the NFA warehouse to the barangay Multipurpose Hall for distribution to beneficiaries who were properly enlisted and screened by the Office of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (OCSWADO).

Barangay officials announced that validation and screening for a second batch of enlistment will soon be conducted for residents who have not yet been included but may still qualify for the assistance program.

Prior to the distribution activity, an initial assessment was conducted by the City Social Welfare and Development Office in the barangays of Phil-Am Barangay and Bakakeng Central to identify and validate qualified beneficiaries for the rice assistance initiative.Bakakeng

A week after the assessment, the Punong Barangay, Social Services personnel, and Day Care Workers attended a meeting and orientation to discuss and delegate responsibilities for the proper implementation of the program.

On May 7, 2026, at around 2:00 PM, another coordination meeting was held with concerned officials and staff to finalize preparations for the distribution activity. After the meeting, personnel proceeded to the Multipurpose Hall to organize and assist the beneficiaries.

The following day, beginning at around 10:00 AM, barangay personnel and beneficiaries gathered to claim the distribution cards required for the rice assistance. Barangay tanods and kagawads then transported the rice supplies from the NFA warehouse to the barangay using the SRV vehicle.

Partial distribution was immediately conducted to ensure that several households could already receive rice for their daily meals while the remaining allocation was being organized.

Beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the government and barangay officials for the assistance extended to their families, emphasizing that the rice distribution provided significant relief amid rising household expenses.

Barangay officials reaffirmed their commitment to continue delivering responsive and compassionate public service to the community under the banner: “Service continues for our community.” #
