City given international health service award

The City Health Services Office (CHSO) under Dr. Celia Flor Brillantes was awarded the prestigious International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) Excellence in Public Health Service Award at the Asia Pacific and Africa International Peace Conference 2024, June 14, at Hotel Supreme.

An article posted at the Baguio HSO Mental Health & Wellness Unit website, June 30, stated that the recognition was conferred in honor of the CHSO’s exemplary governance, impactful community services, and unwavering commitment to advancing health initiatives—particularly in the field of mental health promotion and public health development.

The award was received by Brillantes; Ricky Ducas Jr, Mental Health Program Coordinator; and Rommel De Guzman, representative of the CHSO’s Health Promotion Unit.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the IAWPA for this esteemed acknowledgment. This milestone serves as a reminder of our collective responsibility to champion accessible, inclusive, and progressive health services for all,” Brillantes said.

“Together, we continue to champion health and wellness for all,” she added.

Based in South Africa, the IAWPA is an International Civil Society Organization operating as a non-profit entity with a global mandate to promote peace and appoints personalities whose lifestyles are anchored in promoting peace as Eminent Peace Ambassadors across the 193 member states of the United Nations. – Gaby B.
