Mayor attends leage of cities of the Philippines assembly

BAGUIO CITY– Mayor Benjamin Magalong joined the Special General Assembly of the Leage of Cities of the Philippines (LCP), June 18, in Metro Manila, that highlighted the hard work and dedication of outgoing City Mayors, especially those who have served three consecutive terms.

The gathering also marked the start of preparations for the 2025–2028 LCP elections and future initiatives that aim to strengthen city leadership and collaboration across the country.

The Mayor, who was re-elected for a third-term in this year’s elections, said meaningful and productive exchanges of insights and experiences were shared among those who attended for the betterment of local governance.

According to its website, The LCP was organized on June 7, 1988 in Tagaytay City among City Mayors who noted the peculiar needs and characteristics of and challenges confronting cities that needed more focused attention. The objective, according to the LCP Constitution and By-Laws, was to foster collaboration, unity and cooperation among the country’s cities.

Meanwhile, Mayor Magalong welcomed Mayor Vilma Caluag of the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, during her recent courtesy visit at the Mayor’s Office, City Hall where an exchange of ideas on public service, governance, and shared aspirations for both cities took place. – Gaby B.
