City okays more barangay budgets, ordinance for 2023

Mayor Benjamin Magalong, Sept. 22, signed city council resolution no. 563, series of 2023, granting favorable review to the budgets of Dominican-Mirador and Victoria Village barangays for 2023 pursuant to pertinent provisions of the Local Government Code of 1991, as amended.    

The City Budget Officer forwarded for review of the august body the preliminary reviewed supplemental budgets of the said barangays.

In its 2nd indorsement dated Sept. 11, this year, the local legislature’s committee on barangay affairs recommended favorable review of the barangay budgets of Dominican-Mirador and Victoria Village.

The approved resolution orders the return of said barangay budgets to the City Budget Office for implementation.

Meanwhile, the Mayor also ratified resolution no. 561, series of 2023, granting favorable review of ordinance no. 1, series of 2023, of Manuel Roxas barangay.

In its 2nd indorsement dated August 31, this year, the city council’s committee on barangay affairs recommended favorable review of the said barangay ordinance considering that its enactment passed the formal and substantial requirement of an ordinance.

It added that the committee’s recommendations were already incorporated in the proposed ordinance when it was previously returned to the barangay. – Gaby B. Keith
