City holds follow-up orientation on human rights

The Barangay Human Rights Action Officer (BHRAO) of each of the Summer Capital’s barangays were enjoined to attend the follow-up ‘Orientation on Human Rights-Related Laws’ on April 20 at Ecolodge, Resurrection Compound, Magsaysay Avenue.

In a letter dated April 17, this year, of City Mayor’s Office executive asst. IV Benjamin Macadangdang, Baguio City HR Task Force member and lawyer Hannah Calitong, Task Force chair, disclosed that the activity is a continuation of the successful summit held last March.

Their letter was noted by Mayor Benjamin Magalong.

It revealed that a team of expert speakers will provide valuable insights on Specific Duties and Responsibilities of the HR Action Team; Functions of the Federation of BHRAO; Child Rights and the Safe Spaces Act.

The letter stressed that the follow-up orientation would benefit the BHRAOs greatly since it would help ensure that they are well-informed on the topic of HR and the laws protecting them. – Gaby B. Keith
