7th placer in licensure exam for mining engineers commended

City officials recently congratulated and commended Sarah Genese Cabilangan of the Catholic-run St. Louis University (SLU) for placing seventh with a rating of 85.35 percent in the August 2023 licensure examination for mining engineers.

In a resolution authored by Councilor Arthur Alad-iw, Cabilangan’s feat shows and continues to uphold the city’s title as the education center of the north where education institutions mold students into licensed professionals with flying colors.

Earlier, the August 2023 mining engineers licensure examination result, which include the full list of passers, top 10 topnotchers and the top performing schools, were released on August 29, 2023, one day after the exam.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that 242 out of 351 examinees successfully passed the mining engineers licensure examination given by the Board of Mining Engineering in the National Capital Region (NCR), Baguio, Butuan, Cebu, Davao and Legazpi in August 2023.

Further, the PRC also recognized the topnotchers in the entire archipelago in the mining engineer’s licensure examination.

Cabilangan, an examinee from SLU, placed 7th in the August 23 licensure examination for mining engineers.

The council claimed that her achievement brought pride and honor not only to her family but also to the local government, her Alma Mater and to the people of the city. Copies of the approved resolution will be furnished to Cabilangan and SLU for their information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. – Dexter A. See
