UNDP holds workshops on urban development, circular economy

The city government under Mayor Benjamin Magalong and spearheaded by the City Planning, Development and Sustainability Office (CPDSO) continues to take action for a Greener Future.
The CPDSO participated in a workshop, June 26-27, focused on advancing sustainable urban development and circular economy initiatives in Baguio by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Green LGUs Initiative.
CPDSO head Ar. Donna Tabangin said the workshop covered essential areas including the European Union Green Economy Program in the Philippines (EU GEPP) Project Overview to align with EU green partnerships, Circular Economy Strategy Development for creating sustainable solutions in the Summer Capital and Community Grants Planning to support grassroots environmental initiatives.
The two-day activity also tackled Climate Education & Behavioral Change programs to empower citizens for climate action, and UNDP Corporate Requirements to meet international sustainability standards.It brought together partnerships with Zero Waste Baguio, Inc. (ZWBI) for community waste management solutions, IGOROTA Foundation Inc. (IFI) for indigenous knowledge integration, and UNDP Specialists who provided international expertise and funding opportunities, she said.
