TRANSPORTATION OF P4.5M WORTH OF MARIJUANA INTERCEPTED IN KALINGA

Seven individuals will now be facing charges for Violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 after they were arrested for transporting marijuana bricks worth over 4.5 million pesos in Kalinga.

According to the report reaching the Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR., the arrested suspects were identified as Sandy Legnes, 30; Raymond Nazareno, 33; Michael David, 25; Keneth Christian Sum, 28; Matthew John Milgate, 22; John Ashley Sevilla, 24; and Rhecel Maribojoc, 21.

The same report disclosed that joint anti-illegal drugs operatives of the Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Kalinga (PDEA-Kalinga), and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 (RMFB15) immediately conducted an interdiction operation in Bulanao Centro, Tabuk City, Kalinga, after receiving information about a group of individuals who would be transporting marijuana products from Tinglayan to Tabuk City.

The operating units confiscated 38 bricks of suspected marijuana dried leaves with an estimated weight of 38, 000 grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 4, 560, 000.00; two (2) small half-taped-wrapped bricks of suspected marijuana dried leaves and fruiting tops with an estimated weight of 300 grams with an SDP of Php 36, 000.00; and one (1) brown paper bag of suspected dried Marijuana leaves and stalks with an estimated weight of 10 grams with an SDP of Php 1,200.00.
