“Through unity and cooperation, we can build a safer Abra” – PRO-CAR RD PEREDO JR.

Strengthening collaboration with other government agencies in addressing peace and development matters in the province of Abra, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, Regional Director of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR), attends the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) Meeting held at the Abra Provincial Capitol, Bangued, Abra on March 17, 2025.

The meeting was presided over by Atty. Russel A. Braggas, Acting Provincial Governor of Abra and Chairperson of PPOC, and was attended by the members of the PPOC; PCOL GILBERT A FATI-IG, Acting Provincial Director of Abra Police Provincial Office (PPO); PLTCOL NIXON L LAOYAN, Assistant Chief of the Regional Intelligence Division; key officers of Abra PPO; the mayors of the 27 municipalities in Abra; and representatives from other line agencies, and non-governmental and civil society organizations.

As part of the meeting, PCOL FATI-IG presented the significant accomplishments of Abra PPO in law enforcement and anti-criminality operations, along with an update on the current peace and order situation in the province.

In addition to discussions on peace and order, the meeting also addressed the preparations for the 2025 National and Local Elections, focusing on early election security planning. Key topics included identifying potential hot spots, deploying security forces particularly at checkpoints, and ensuring the safety of election-related activities in the province.

In his message, PBGEN PEREDO, JR reassured the public that PRO CAR is doing its best to ensure the safety of the province. He also urged local government agencies and civil society organizations to continue supporting the plans and programs of the PNP while reinforcing their shared commitment to safeguarding the people of Abra.

“I assure the people of Abra that we are implementing enhanced security measures, intensifying intelligence operations, and strengthening partnerships with barangay officials and peace advocates to prevent further incidents.
