The Muay Thai journey of Clark G. Fattit

Clark G. Fattit of Asin Road is only 17 years old but he has achieved a good footing in the arena of Muay Thai.

He took up the sport because of his mother’s insistence at the age of 11, and since then, perseverance, discipline and passion are attributes that have characterized Clark and has kept him aglow as a student and athlete.

His training is on weekdays and Saturdays where he runs in the morning and trains in the afternoon with Sundays for rest.

It was quite challenging in the beginning to balance school and training but Clark slowly got used to this by taking advantage of breaks to do his schoolwork.

Clark was motivated by his coaches, idols and most importantly his mother as he challenged himself in Muay Thai Combative categories.

The most memorable moment was during his Batang Pinoy event where he got his first gold medal as he remembers not being able to sleep over the fact that he lost in the combative category.

Clark continues to be down to earth and driven despite all the ups and downs in reaching success.

“I make it a habit to remind myself that this training will be mine and I am the one who will be taking benefit out of the training. And that keeps me going when things get difficult,” he stressed.

Clark has future plans of becoming a professional in police work or nursing, and dreams of representing the country as an athlete.

He tells other young people that training becomes easier when you get used to it and the difficult task is to come to work everyday and to always be consistent to achieve results.” – John Batario, PIO Baguio intern / Gaby Keith
