Tea House officially opens a branch at SM Baguio

BAGUIO CITY — The long-running Tea House Restaurant and Bakeshop, one of the oldest restaurants in the city, officially opened its second location on Friday, November 25, 2022, at the lower ground floor of SM City Baguio.

Known for its Streamline cakes and the popular Chona’s Delight among other cakes, the new branch was named “Tea House Kitchen by Chona”, in honor of owner and general manager Chona Perez, the woman her son claimed to have profoundly been working in the background who introduced “bilao” versions of their pancit and pasta delicacies like Palabok and Spaghetti, and other specialties, the restaurant’s current staples.

Tea House Kitchen by Chona includes among its specialties the authentic Kapampangan Kare-Kare which boasts of using only natural ingredients plus long hours of pressure cooking the meat until the desired tenderness is achieved.

The new branch also promotes Perez’s son Gil’s Inihaw na Liempo and Inasal.

New desserts are also on their menu, which includes Yema Halo-Halo, Almond-Buko Panna Cotta, and Smores Signature Hot Chocolate.

The opening day was jam-packed, including customers who travelled from far away Kapangan in the province of Benguet.

Perez thanked her children for recognizing her efforts.

She said she had approved of this business expansion for as long as they worked together, assuring them of her support on this plan that her children had.

Perez also thanked all the restaurant’s customers for their continued patronage in the more than 27 years she was in this business.

“Maraming, maraming salamat sa kanila, na hindi nila ako nakakalimutan through the years…,” Perez said.
