TAAP reaches milestone, opens call for Research Conference

Manila, Philippines – The Trainers and Advocates of the Philippines (TAAP) gathered virtually for its 3rd General Membership Assembly on December 27, with the theme: “Inclusive Pathways: Leading the Way to Equality.” Meanwhile, TAAP invites professionals, educators, and students to submit research abstracts for its 3rd Annual Research Conference by January 30. In addition, to mark the year-end, TAAP also successfully held a meaningful community outreach activity entitled “Holiday of Hope: Sharing Joy with our Senior Citizens.”

During the said year-end online general assembly, TAAP chairperson Dr. Lurhen Cortes shared meaningful discussions and engaging activities about the previous accomplishments and plans. There was an awarding of certificates of “women of impact,” advocacy to action, and a community outreach program. To make the 3rd TAAP general membership assembly, an inspiring message was delivered by Dr. Shanti Raj, the CEO of FNI Malaysia. Then an election of the new board was undertaken to reaffirm the TAAP’s commitment to inclusivity, advocacy, and empowering leadership – continuing its mission to lead positive change in the community.

In addition, the 3rd Annual Research Conference aims to provide a platform for knowledge-sharing, innovation, and evidence-based advocacy across disciplines. Selected abstracts will be given the opportunity for presentation and scholarly engagement. TAAP is inviting interested participants to advance research that inspires action and meaningful change. One can submit an abstract and be part of the conversation.

Finally, before the year ends, TAAP showed collective generosity with the Our Lady of Lourdes, Rex Bookstore, and other kind-hearted benefactors; one hundred eleven (111) senior citizens beneficiaries received Christmas food packs. The said TAAP outreach was held at Hulo Street, Purok 6, San Roque, San Rafael, Bulacan. This heartfelt initiative brought smiles, hope, and the true spirit of Christmas to the beloved seniors – a reminder that compassion and service are best shared together.

For the year 2026, the new set and returning TAAP executive officers are as follows: Dr. Mary Ann Dunlap (president); Dr. Robert Samaniego (vice president); Effelene Howard (secretary); Prof. Maryjane Marañag (treasurer); and Dr. Randy Nobleza (public relations officer).
