SSS REMINDS ABRA EMPLOYERS, TO SETTLE THEIR CONTRIBUTION DELINQUENCIES

Six employers from various towns in the province of Abra were visited by SSS Bangued and North Luzon 1 Division officials to remind them of the settlement of their unremitted past-due contributions to the SSS. These employers failed to remit the SSS contributions of their 34 employees from 2002 to 2022 with combined principal and accrued penalties of P3.4 million.

SSS offered the contribution penalty condonation program wherein the accumulated penalties will be waived once the principal and interest are completely settled. Payment terms available are one-time payments or installments of up to 48 months, depending on the delinquency amount. Failure to settle their delinquencies may result in further legal implications against the employers. Under Republic Act 11199 or the Social Security Act of 2018, an employer, if found guilty may be subjected to a penalty of imprisonment from 6 to 12 years and payment of a fine of not less than P5,000 nor more than P20,000.
