SRC 2nd Regular Meeting Yields Key Reforms, Backs Stronger Enforcement Strategies vs Illegal Drugs

On June 17, 2025, the Supply Reduction Committee, one of the standing committees of the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), convened its 2nd Regular meeting for the year at the PDEA National Headquarters, Quezon City. Chaired by PDEA Director General Isagani R. Nerez, the meeting was attended by representatives from the DOJ, AFP, AMLC, BI, BJMP, BOC, BUCOR, DFA, DILG, DOTR, DND, NBI, NICA, OSETC, PDEA, PNP, and PPC.

During the meeting, the Committee successfully approved the following:

a. Amendment of the Board Regulation No. 4, Series of 2021 “Sustaining the Implementation of Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP) and Repealing for Such Purpose Board Regulation No. 3, Series of 2017”

b. Amendment of the Board Regulation No. 2, Series of 2020 entitled “Guidelines in the Nationwide Implementation of Drug Clearing Program in Controlled Facilities for Persons Deprived of Liberty”

c. Proposed Board Regulation with Subject: “Creation of the National Drug Interdiction Task Force”

The said regulations will be submitted to the Dangerous Drugs Board for final approval. Another salient matter approved was the Creation of a Technical Working Group for the Crafting of a Mechanism on the Deployment of Drug Enforcement Attachés.

In addition, the Committee also agreed to approve the Proposed Board Regulation with Subject: “Presence of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) at Crowd-Drawing Events” upon final review of one of its member agencies.
