Report on operation of delivery companies in city sought

City officials recently requested the Department of Labor and Employment – Cordillera Administrative Region (DOLE-CAR) to submit to the local legislative body its report regarding the operations of Food Panda and all similarly situated delivery companies in the city for information and appropriate legislative measures.

Under Resolution No. 395, series of 2024, local legislators stated that delivery riders now face challenges in their work from technological problems to health and safety issues and lack of benefits and incentives provided to them by law.

Further, the council claimed that the lack of company support for the delivery riders, health, safety and other requirements indicate a deficiency in providing adequate measures.

Earlier, the body invited concerned officials of Food Panda to shed light on various issues concerning its business in the city, including the alleged absence of an office and local business permit.

The council also requested the Delivery Hero Logistics Philippines, Inc., the managing arm of Food Panda Philippines, to submit to the body a copy of proof of incorporation and payments of business permits within 10 days upon receipt of the said resolution.

Copies of the approved resolution will be transmitted to the concerned company and the DOLE-CAR for information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. Dexter A. See
