PREPARATIONS FOR FAMILY MONTH CELEBRATION.

The family month steering committee spearheaded by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) headed by Lisa Bulayungan and Committee Chair on Social Services, Women and Urban Poor Councilor Betty Lourdes Tabanda convened last Friday, August 1 at the senior citizen center conference hall, Salud Mitra Barangay, to plan for the National Filipino Family month celebration this September.

Among those discussed are the Kick-Off activities, Search for the Natatanging Pamilyang Pilipino ng Baguio City, the City Hall Hour, Parent Effectiveness Service and Family Life Development Sessions, Team building, Self-enhancement and Mental Health lectures, Empowerment and Reaffirmation of Paternal Abilities Training (ERPAT), Family Fair Day and local tours in Botanical Garden and Bayan Park, Parenting and Family Development Sessions.

Most of these activities are community-based with the participation of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), Solo Parents Organization of Baguio, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), KALIPI federation, Child representative, Tourism and Special Events Office, the Baguio City Public Library, Senior Citizens, and other agencies. –jgfianza
