POWER RESTORATION UPDATE OF BULALACAO, MANKAYAN SUBSTATION

June 5. 2023 – We would like to assure our member-consumer-owners (MCOs) in the municipalities of MANKAYAN and SOME PARTS OF BUGUIAS affected by the damaged substation power transformer, that restoration of power will be on or before June 15, 2023, under normal weather conditions.

We are just waiting for the approval of BENECO’s request for the rental of the 10 MVA Power Transformer from the Ilocos Sur Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ISECO) Board of Directors who will be discussing our request in their Board Meeting today, June 5, 2023.

We understand the difficulty and hassle of having no electricity on demand, and we beg for further understanding and patience, but there are processes and procedures that we have to prepare and follow, as this is a major undertaking by your cooperative.

ISECO Management has prepared the MOA with BENECO in anticipation of their Board of Directors’ approval today.

Upon securing ISECO Board’s approval, mobilization of our trucking partner commences immediately tomorrow (June 6, 2023) to bring the power transformer from ISECO to our Bulalacao, Mankayan Substation for installation, testing, and other works needed in preparation for the June 15 energization and normalization of service.
