P62.12M worth Marijuana plants discovered in Kalinga

Camp  Major Bado Dangwa, La Trindad Benguet- (August 5, 2021) – The continuous conduct of intensified Marijuana Eradication Operation resulted in the discovery of 310,600 pcs of Fully Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMJP) with P62.12M Standard Drug Price (SDP) in 15 plantation sites in Tinglayan, Kalinga on August 3-4.

According to the reports submitted to the Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, joint operatives of Kalinga PPO, RID/RPDEU/RSOG, RMFB15, PNPDEG SOU2, and PDEA Kalinga launched the two-day operation in two barangays of Tinglayan, Kalinga.

In Barangay Loccong, operatives discovered a total of 82,000 pcs of FGMJP with an SDP of  PHP 16,400,000.00 in seven (7) marijuana plantation sites.

Also, in Brgy. Butbut, a total of 228,600 pcs of FGMJP with an SDP of PHP 45,700,200.00 were destroyed in eight (8) plantation sites with an estimated land area of 25,300 sqm.

All discovered FGMJP were burned and uprooted on-site, while the continuous investigation is ongoing to apprehend possible cultivators. (PROCOR-PIO)
