P11.1M worth Marijuana eradicated, 2 Drug Personalities arrested in 3-day OPS
A total of Php 11,100,00.00 worth of marijuana plants were eradicated and two (2) drug personalities were arrested by PROCOR cops in separate anti-illegal drugs operations conducted in Cordillera from December 10 to 12, 2021.
Based on the reports submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, for the 3-day operations, two (2) marijuana plantation sites were discovered in Benguet while seven (7) sites were discovered in Kalinga. In addition, two (2) drug personalities identified as Warren Dangpa Madanes, 45, and Ryan Taguiba Tictica, 32, were arrested in buy-bust operations conducted in Benguet and Baguio City.
In Benguet, operatives found a total of 500 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) amounting to Php 100,000.00 cultivated in the two (2) plantation sites discovered in Brgy Poblacion, Kibungan.
Meanwhile, in Kalinga, operatives found a total of 38,500 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants and 18,000 pieces of marijuana seedlings with SDP amounting to Php 8,600,000.00 cultivated in five (5) plantation sites discovered in Brgy Loccong, Tinglayan, and a total of 12,000 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with SDP of Php 2,400,000.00 cultivated in two (2) plantation sites discovered in Brgy Butbut Proper, Tinglayan.
All discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and burned on-site by the operatives while investigations are ongoing to identify possible cultivators.
Further, in a buy-bust operation conducted in Brgy Guinaoang, Mankayan, Benguet, suspect Madanes was arrested after he sold to an operative who acted as a poseur buyer one (1) plastic sachet of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 1.20 grams and SDP of Php 8,160.00 and during his arrest, another plastic sachet of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 0.58 grams and SDP of Php 3,944.00 was confiscated from his possession.
Moreover, in another buy-bust operation conducted in Lourdes Subdivision Extension, Baguio City, suspect Tictica was arrested after he sold one (1) plastic sachet of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 0.3 grams and SDP of Php 2,040.00 to an operative who acted as a poseur buyer.
The arrested suspects and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of the respective units in charge of documentation and proper disposition while a case for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is being filed against them. (PROCOR-PIO)
