Dubai, United Arab Emirates and New Clark City, Philippines — New Clark City hosted the official global “switch-on” ceremony marking the opening of the 7 Wonders of Future Cities public voting phase on October 31, 2026.

Hosted and organized by New Clark City and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), the milestone event brought together city leaders, media and invited guests for the live activation of the global voting platform.

Jean-Paul de la Fuente, Director of New7Wonders and Chairman of the 7 Wonders of Future Cities campaign, led the official ceremony. He executed the digital transition of the campaign website from its current presentation format to the public voting platform — formally inviting people around the world to help choose the cities shaping the future.

“New Clark City represents the ambition, innovation and forward-looking spirit at the heart of the 7 Wonders of Future Cities campaign,” said Mr. de la Fuente. “By hosting this historic global switch-on, New Clark City will provide the stage from which citizens everywhere are invited to participate in choosing the urban places that will inspire generations to come.”

“Having New Clark City host the global switch-on ceremony for the 7 Wonders of Future Cities is an opportunity to put the Philippines on the global map of sustainable urban development. It reflects our vision of building a city that balances economic growth with environmental responsibility, resilience, and quality of life. As the world recognizes cities shaping the future, we hope New Clark City can demonstrate how thoughtful urban planning can create better places for people and serve as a model for future generations,” BCDA Vice President for Land and Assets Development Richard M. Cepe said.
