More than half million worth of Marijuana burned in Benguet and Kalinga

Camp Major Bado, Dangwa La Trinidad, Benguet – (March 12, 2021) – The relentless effort of Cordilleran cops to stop marijuana cultivation resulted in the discovery of Php 680,000.00 worth of marijuana plants in the provinces of Benguet and Kalinga last March 11, 2021.

According to the reports of PCOL REYNALDO PASIWEN, Provincial Director of Benguet, operatives of Benguet PPO discovered some 2,400 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants with an estimated worth of Php 480,000.00 cultivated in a 300 square meter public land at Sitio Alidngan, Brgy Kayapa, Bakun, Benguet.

Meanwhile, in Kalinga, reports from the Provincial Director PCOL DAVY VICENTE M LIMMONG, disclosed that operatives of Kalinga PPO discovered some 1,000 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants in a 100-square meter land area with Standard Drug Price of Php 200,000.00 at Butbut Proper, Tinglayan, Kalinga.

All marijuana plants were uprooted and burned onsite while an investigation is on-going to identify cultivators and the landowner in Kalinga. (PROCOR RPIO)
