Mayor bares accomplishments of city departments

Mayor Benjamin Magalong said the city’s various departments have set forth their respective undertakings for the first 100 days of his second term in office “to serve as the take-off point to bigger endeavors for the next three years.”
In his accomplishment report during flag-raising rites, Oct. 10, at City Hall, the Mayor said that on health, the City Health Services Office is developing a tracking system for the health provider network and the registration and matching of 50,000 persons to licensed and accredited health centers will be done as the city implements its Universal Health Care System.
On civil registry, the Civil Registry Office conducted mobile birth registration clinics in barangays and the city’s civil registry documents will soon be digitalized while the City Buildings and Architecture Office will soon complete the database of structures in the central business district and rest of the city.
He said the City Veterinary and Agriculture Office has provided agri-enterprise ventures to several young farmer groups and livelihood assistance to families in the city’s Urban Agriculture Project while the City Engineering Office continues with its sidewalk recovery and improvement on roads and sidewalks that are within local schools and universities.
The City Social Welfare and Development Office has prepared for the adoption of the Social Protection-Vulnerability Assessment Manual that shall serve as the framework for strategic planning and implementation of the city’s social protection programs.
In terms of solid and liquid waste, water and air monitoring, urban regreening, parks rehabilitation, land use, and forest regeneration, the Mayor said that the City Environment and Parks Management Office, General Services Office, City Planning and Development Office and City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office are continuing with their database development.
The City Human Resource Management Office conducted a check on how the city is meeting its departmental objectives as set in its Performance Governance System while the Finance Committee is undergoing the updating of local parks entrance fees, online payment, billing and collection as well as the planning for the conduct of the Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises (MSME)and Investors Summits.
For the barangay livability community program, the CPDO started going to the barangays to plan along with residents on how they can transform into livable communities and that a barangay Annual Investment Plan (AIP) tracker was developed to help the city monitor the planning and budgeting of barangay projects.
“We are firmly staying on the course that we have set, we are likewise resolved to seize opportunities to help us arrive faster at meeting our goals. Soon we will be in a conversation on setting our vision for Baguio that we want for 2043. We need one identity, one goal, and one vision,” the mayor stressed. – Gaby B. Keith
