Marinduque Creatives get a boost from a proposed Ordinance

Boac, Marinduque – Recently concluded consultative meeting on Proposed Ordinance No. 16-111 is set to be approved before the transition to the next administration will improve the budding Creative Industries in the province.. The proposed legislative measure is entitled:
“An Ordinance Providing for the Development, Promotion, and Strengthening of Creative Industries in the Province of Marinduque, Creating for the Purpose a ‘Marinduque Creative Industries Development Council,’
The much welcome ordinance is appreciated by the invited resource persons ranging from the Department of Trade and Industry, Provincial Tourism and Cultural Office, Marinduque State University, fashion designers, moryon mask makers, kalutang masters, choreographers, tattoo and visual artists, with events and tourism professionals along with academic sector and the industry leaders. The proposed legislation would be appropriating funds thereof, and for Other Related Purposes.

The said Marinduque Creative Industries ordinance is authored by the Chairperson of the Committee on Tourism Development and Cultural Heritage, Honorable Antonio Mangcucang III.
According to fashion designer Arsenio Salamat, “This initiative presents a valuable opportunity to support and enhance the local creative sector, and I look forward to contributing to the discussions and the development of effective strategies for its implementation.”
In addition, creative manager and organizer Seller Nolos also expressed optimism about the initiative, “This isn’t just policy—it’s a movement.
