HERO’S REMAINS, HOME AT LAST

PLT KENNETH FALAG-EY TAD-AWAN’s remains finally arrived at his hometown at Bontoc, Mountain Province today, February 10, 2022.
Before bringing his remains back to his “ili”, a funeral service was held at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel in Camp Ruperto K Kangleon, Palo, Leyte. After the funeral, his remains were transported back to Luzon and arrived at NAIA terminal airport at around 3:00 PM yesterday, and was brought to Resurrection Chapel, Magsaysay, Baguio City around 9:00 PM. Finally, PLT TAD-AWAN’S remains arrived at their house in Bontoc Ili, Mountain Province around 6:00 AM today.
Our slain hero, PLT TAD-AWAN, is a pure-blooded “iFontok,” and is the 1st born of Mr. Vicente Tad-awan and Mrs. Ana Falag-ey – Tad-awan, who both hailed and natives of Bontoc, Mountain Province. He was the Platoon Leader of Lapinig Patrol Base of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 8 and a Criminology alumnus of the University of Baguio.
Based on the reports, PLT TAD-AWAN was with the operating troops of the 801st Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 8 when they encountered an undetermined number of communist rebels while conducting a humanitarian activity in Lapinig, Northern Samar on Monday, February 7.
