Health Protocol violator arrested for illegal possession of a firearm

CAMP MAJOR BAD DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – A man flagged down for violating health protocols was arrested after operatives seized an unlicensed firearm in his possession in Brgy. Angad, Bangued, Abra, on September 25, 2021.

Citing reports submitted to the Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, identified the suspect as Jeffrey Bernardez Bulda, 27, farmer and a resident of Pidigan, Abra.

Same report disclosed that operatives from Bangued MPS were conducting mobile patrol and enforcing Community Quarantine Protocols when they noticed the suspect who was not wearing a face mask.

The patrolling officers approached the suspect, but he suddenly pulled a gun from his bag. Fortunately, the police officers quickly stopped the suspect and arrested him.

During the course of his arrest, operatives seized one unlicensed short firearm described as S&W 357 Magnum without serial number loaded with six (6) live ammunition; 20 live ammunition; 3 empty shells for cal. 45; one (1) live ammunition for Cal. 45; six(6) live ammunition for Cal. 9mm; and one (1) live ammunition for Cal. 380

Bulda was brought to Bangued MPS for documentation and proper disposition, while the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought at Abra Crime Laboratory for a Ballistic examination. (PROCOR-PIO)
