Gender and Society Violet Exchange every Wednesday of March, Women’s Month
Boac, Marinduque – The Marinduque State University (MarSU) College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) GE Elect 2: Gender and Society is organizing the second season of Kalutang Violet Bag series by BS Social Work students. They are featuring gender related research between 2016 and 2024, vis-à-vis local organizations that support women and gender studies and advocacy.
By March 4 (Wednesday) MarSU Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System would be discussed along with GAD related researches: Causes and Effects of Unexpected Pregnancy among College students in Marinduque State College by Ysabel Marie Chan and Lived Experience of the Teenage Mothers in Barangay Dili and Pinggan, Municipality of Gasan by Kheychel Deano, Rssael Loto, and Jovelene Morong.
The next of GAD related researches to be discussed by March 11, the BSSW 2019 and 2019 batches, Lundag et al., “Possible factors that the suspected violators commit incest,” and Manubac et al., “Level of Gender on Attributes of male and female students of Marinduque State College.” While the organization that they are going to spotlight is the Circulo de Mujeres (Boac Women’s Club), the following Wednesday.
The third set of Violet Exchange is going to take place by March 18, Arriene Jane Linguit, Ma. Fe Canelas and Bea Moring with their thesis “Breaking Gender Barriers: Socio-economic, Cultural and Personal factors influencing Male students to pursue Social Work academic Path in MSC” and Monteron etal “Level of Gender Sensitivity of BS Social Work students in selected SUCs in region 4B Mimaropa.” For this session, the KALIPI (Kalipunan ng mga Liping Pilipina) Marinduque is going to take the virtual stage for the national women’s month celebration.
The last set of Kalutang Gender series is about Jayson Mistal et al., “Level of acceptance of Bekis of immediate family in Marinduque,” and Villavicencio et al., “Challenges encountered in the implementation of anti-violence against women act of 2004 in Boac, Marinduque” on March 25. The featured group is the Bila-bila LGBTQIA+ association of Boac, Marinduque. #
