Former Regional Director for Muslim Affairs Abel Macarimpas joins the Growing Movement for Gladys Vergara

In a moment filled with significance and solidarity, leading congressional candidate Gladys Vergara received a powerful endorsement from Abel Macarimpas, Former Regional Director for Muslim Affairs and current National President of the BBM Tigers. A longtime ally in community building and cultural inclusion, Macarimpas’ show of support reflects the deepening trust between Vergara and Baguio’s Muslim community, a bond nurtured through years of shared advocacies, mutual respect, and collective celebration of culture.

Our Muslim brothers and sisters have long been valued partners of the Baguio Tourism Council, we’ve stood with them in their advocacies, celebrated their culture, and supported their communities.

This meaningful occasion was made even more special with the presence of former Mayor and Congressman Bernardo Vergara, a steadfast partner of the Muslim community during his years in public service. Standing side by side with her father, Gladys was reminded of the enduring values of respect, unity, and servant leadership that have guided their family’s legacy in Baguio. Also in attendance was their close friend Nick Oller from Tubao, whose presence added to the spirit of friendship and partnership that marked the day.

Vergara expressed her deep gratitude and honor for the overwhelming support. “𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙢𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙖𝙨 𝙄 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙢𝙮 𝙛𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧, 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙗𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙩 𝙤𝙣 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩, 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙩, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮. 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙩 𝙥𝙤 𝙨𝙖 𝙞𝙣𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙞𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙖,” she said.

As more leaders and communities rally behind her vision, Vergara stands firm in her promise to champion inclusive governance and genuine service fueled by unity and strengthened by the people she has long stood beside. ### (GV Team File Photos)
