Driver involved in Baguio VTA nabbed in Manila

A driver allegedly involved in Marcos Highway Vehicular Traffic Accident (VTA) in 2021 was arrested by the joint operatives of Baguio CPO-Kennon Police Station (PS8), Regional Intelligence Unit-National Capital Region (RIU-NCR), and Special Mayor’s Reaction Team (S.Ma.R.T.) in Sta. Ana, Manila on June 12, 2023.
The arrest of a 45-year-old driver, tagged as the Most Wanted Person at the District Level for the 2nd Quarter of 2023, and a resident of Cupang, Antipolo City, was the result of a close operational investigation and case monitoring by BAGUIO’s FINEST in coordination with RIU-NCR and S.Ma.R.T.
His charge stems from a crash that resulted in the death of a lady rider in December 2021 at Marcos Highway, Baguio City.
Regional Trial Court Branch 7 First Judicial Region, Baguio City issued a warrant of arrest for Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide and Damage to Property on June 1, 2022 with recommended bail of PHP100,000.00.
He is currently under the custody of PS 8 for documentation purposes before being turned over to the issuing court for the appropriate course of action. – PCPT. Angeline T. Dongpaen, PIO, BCPO
