DOF HEARTS Series: Social Protection DOF ensures efficient delivery of quality public services by funding salaries and bonuses of government workers
November 6, 2025 – (News Release)
The Department of Finance (DOF) is ensuring that every Filipino continues to receive efficient and reliable public services by providing sufficient funding for the salaries and bonuses of government employees who serve at the frontlines of nation-building.
This year, the government allocated about PHP 1.63 trillion for personnel services, which cover the salaries, benefits, and allowances of civilian employees, as well as military and uniformed personnel.
A total of PHP 63.69 billion has been allocated for the year-end bonus, while a PHP 9.24 billion cash gift will benefit more than 1.85 million government workers across the country.
The year-end bonus is equivalent to one month’s basic salary. Employees who have rendered at least four months of service since the start of the year and remain in government service as of October 31 are entitled to these incentives.
Next year, the DOF will fund the salary increases of government workers to ensure the quality and efficiency of public service. This also includes the creation of an additional 32,916 teaching and 32,268 non-teaching positions to ensure quality education for students.
Under the 2026 proposed national budget, personnel services will increase to PHP 1.88 trillion. #
