Cordillera COPS destroyed 21.9 million worth of Marijuana plants in a 5-day operation
CAMP MAJOR BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – (April 13, 2021) – PROCOR cops destroyed Php 21.9 million worth of marijuana plants in the province of Benguet and Kalinga in their 5-day operation from April 6-10, 2021.
Committed to the campaign against illegal drugs, the Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD O LEE, reported the accomplishments in marijuana eradication of PROCOR operatives of Benguet and Kalinga in their respective areas of responsibility.
Citing the reports of Benguet PPO Provincial Director, PCOL REYNALDO PASIWEN, operatives discovered marijuana plantation sites in the mountains of Bakun, Kibungan and Kayapa Benguet.
In Kibungan, operatives uprooted 4,700 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 940,000.00 cultivated in a communal forest with an estimated land area of 700 square meters of barangay Badeo.
In Bakun, four (4) marijuana plantation sites were discovered by the operatives from the communal forest of sitios Bulisay, Agay-ay, Lepsik, and Wading of Brgy Kayapa. With a total SDP of Php 4,820,000.00, 24,100 pieces fully grown marijuana plants were uprooted in an estimated land area of 2,800 square meters.
Meanwhile in Kalinga, citing the reports from Kalinga PPO Provincial Director, PCOL DAVY VICENTE LIMMONG, the operative team has discovered marijuana plantation in Tabuk City and in the municipality of Tinglayan.
In Tabuk, operatives located three (3) marijuana plantation sites in barangay Lacnog, where they found a total of 10,800 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with SDP of Php 2,160,000.00 cultivated in an estimated land area of 1,800 square meters.
In Tinglayan, scouring the mountains of Chumanchil, 3,100 fully grown marijuana plants were uprooted in a 4,700 square meters with an SDP of Php 6, 200,000.00. Found also in the sites were a total of 65-kgs-dried marijuana leaves and 1 kg of marijuana seeds with an SDP of Php 7,825,000.00.
The discovery and destruction of the Php 21,945,000.00 worth of marijuana plants, dried leaves, and seeds in Benguet and Kalinga is a result of the continuous effort in marijuana eradication in the region in pursuit of a drug-free Cordillera. (PROCOR RPIO)
