City gives favorable not to eight more barangay budgets

Mayor Benjamin Magalong ratified two separate city council measures granting favorable reviews to the budgets of several barangays of the Summer Capital.      

Resolution no. 169, series of 2023, grants favorable review to the barangay budgets of Kagitingan, Camp 8, San Roque Village, Upper Market Subdivision and Holy Ghost Extension for fiscal years 2022 and 2023.      

On the other hand, resolution no 171, series of 2023, does the same for the budgets of Dominican-Mirador, Upper Quezon Hill and Lower Magsaysay barangays for fiscal year 2023.      

The City Budget Officer forwarded the said preliminary reviewed annual and supplemental budgets to the august body for its review.      

In separate endorsements, the local legislature’s committee on barangay affairs, recommended favorable review of the mentioned barangay budgets.      

Granting of favorable review of barangay budgets by the city council is pursuant to pertinent provisions of the Local Government Code of 1991, as amended.      

Both resolutions called for the return of the favorably reviewed barangay budgets to the City Budget Office for implementation. – Gaby B. Keith
