City closes Lake Drive on April 27 for Baguio Liberation Day program

Vehicles will not be allowed to enter Lake Drive, Burnham Park on April 27, from 5:00AM to 6:30 AM in line with the celebration of the Liberation of Baguio.

A wreath-laying ceremony, bestowment of awards to living Baguio-based World War II veterans, 21-gun salute and other ceremonial rites will take place at Burnham Lake.

In Executive Order No. 45, series of 2023, Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong said there is a need to close the road contagious to the venue in Burnham Lake to accommodate the arrival honors for the guest of honor and speaker.

Secretary of National Defense Carlito G. Galvez, Jr., was invited by the city government to grace the occasion and serve as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

The Baguio City Police Office was likewise directed to come up and implement a security and traffic management plan to reduce the road closure impact to the public.

This year will be the 78th celebration of the Liberation of Baguio from Japanese invasion during World War II in 1945. – JMPS
