City accredits two more organizations

Mayor Benjamin Magalong signed city council resolution nos. 225 and 226, both series of 2023, accrediting the KaBalai Community Inc. and Treasure Link Cooperative Society, respectively.

The move is in response to the city’s Notice of Call for Accreditation and pursuant to provisions of the Local Government Code of 1991 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations including pertinent memorandum circulars of the Department of the Interior and Local Government.

The accreditations are coterminous with that of the Local Chief Executive, the approved resolutions stated.

Finding both applicants to have sufficiently submitted and are compliant with all the requirements of the law, the august body’s committee on appropriations and finance, cluster C, recommended the accreditation of said organizations.

The resolutions disclosed that the entities are now eligible for selection as members to the city’s local special bodies and to the sectoral or functional committees of the Local Development Council in accordance to guidelines set thereto.

The newly-accredited parties are tasked to submit to the city council their annual accomplishment reports and financial statements on or before the 20th day of January of each year.

The KaBalai Community Inc. is a duly registered entity with the Securities and Exchange Commission while the Treasure Link Cooperative Society is registered with the Cooperative Development Authority. – Gaby B. Keith
