CASS conducts Dalumat 2.0 with ASEAN external panelists

Marinduque, Philippines – The College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) of the Marinduque State University (MarSU) conducted a virtual research colloquium last December 3 via Google Meet platform. Dr. Risang Baskara from Universitas Sanata Dharma and Dr. Nor Zhainiya Norito Mokhtar of the International Islamic University Malaysia served as external panelists.

More than 50 online participants attended Dalumat 2.0 Research Colloquium online with presenters from the CASS program Bachelor of Arts in English Language Studies (ELS), BA Communication (BAC), and BS Social Work. The CASS Dean, Dr. Ernesto Laredo, welcomed the participants with his opening remarks. Meanwhile, MarSU Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Leodegario Jalos Jr provided an inspirational message. Then, the International Relations and Linking Office Director’s Assistant Prof. Jholey Rose Lancion laid out the overview and introduction of the external panel of reviewers.

Maria Luisa Lumanog and Kristine Burgos presented their respective papers on ELS. In addition, Jurhyss Natividad and Abrey Samuya shared their communication ad media studies. Then, finally, a couple of groups from social work and community development elaborated on their proposed topics of study, the group of Ginalyn Logdat and Joel Maritana.

Dr. Nor and Dr. Risang took turns in pointing out their observations and made some suggestions for the improvement of the BAC, ELS, and BSSW studies. Then the Dalumat 2.0 research colloquium wound down with the closing of the CASS research coordinator, Dr. Randy Nobleza, who invited the external panelists to be part of BUSLO ng Marinduque, an open-access journal for MarSU in the near future. # Randy T.
