Baguio surpasses self-imposed vaccination target
Baguio City has exceeded its self-imposed target to immunize 95 percent of the total eligible adult population last Jan. 15.
Asst. City Health Officer Dr. Celia Flor Brillantes said the city as of said date has fully vaccinated a total of 267,223 adults out of the target of 281,000 for a 95.09 percent accomplishment while for adults with at least one dose, the city has inoculated a total of 287,574 for a 102.33 percent achievement.
The 281,000 target is 95 percent of the total eligible adult population of the city. It went beyond the goal set by the Department of Health at 70 percent or 262,185 adults.
Based on the DOH Cordillera report, the city’s vaccination coverage rate for adult population as of Jan. 7 is 108.80 percent for fully vaccinated and 120.54 percent for partially vaccinated adults based on 70 percent of the target population numbering 262,185 individuals.
As of Jan. 19, a total of 60,122 have availed of the booster doses.
For the pediatric population aged 12-17 years, the city has partially immunized a total of 33,059 or 77.22 percent of the target population of 42,811 and fully vaccinated a total of 29,722 or 69.42 percent. – Aileen P. Refuerzo
